The position
As a freelance journalist or editor, you will contribute to our daily news production across digital platforms and TV, ensuring high-quality content that aligns with Euronews' editorial values. Your role will involve covering significant news stories, localizing content, and overseeing the accuracy and quality of published materials.
Key Responsibilities
For Editors:
- Oversee the daily production and broadcasting of news items in Polish and English, prioritizing online publication.
- Lead and supervise a team of journalists, assigning stories and approving content before publication.
- Manage live broadcasts, breaking news, and push notifications while ensuring the quality and accuracy of TV and digital content.
- Coordinate breaking news situations and ensure timely push notifications.
- Edit and distribute rundowns and enrich digital content to enhance audience engagement.
For Journalists:
- Localize all Euronews content, including translation and writing additional local information.
- Produce and publish web content (video, text, photos, infographics) aligned with Euronews' positioning.
- Monitor the impact of published content and engage with users on social media.
- Contribute to live coverage and ensure the quality of news articles in Polish.
Required profile:
Technical Skills:
- Education: 4/5 years’ higher education in journalism or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Editors: Minimum 8 years in news media;
- Journalists: Minimum 2 years as a multimedia journalist.
- Language Skills:
- Excellent command of Polish (C2 level) and fluent English (C1 minimum). Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- Strong writing skills and a fast, precise writing ability.
- Proficiency in digital media and technology, including video editing (Adobe Premiere for journalists).
- Good on-air presence during live coverage (for journalists).

Futher information:
- Location: Warsaw
- Contract Type: Freelance or Fixed-term contract
- Working Hours: Variable schedule with regular weekend work required. Editors will need to cover three EOD shifts, including nights if necessary.
- Contract Start Date: December 2024
