BBC Studios in Warsaw is responsible for operating core businesses and identifying opportunities for BBC Studios across CEE and MENAT territories. From linear TV advertising models in Poland and Romania, through to digital on demand players in Slovakia and beyond the team is responsible for delivering a diverse and growing business.
ABOUT INSIGHTS TEAM
Insights is responsible for ensuring that the voice of the consumer is at the heart of decision making at BBC Studios. The Insights function is a key business partner to regional BBC Studios businesses, and collaborates closely with Commercial, Programming and Marketing teams. As part of a broader Global Insights team at BBC Studios, this role connects with colleagues from London and around the world to ensure they are leveraging and showcasing both global and local resources, tools and insights to best effect.
THE ROLE
The Senior Manager, Insights will be a critical business partner for the teams in Warsaw. This role will be responsible for scoping, designing and delivering Insights, Performance Measurement and Market Intelligence across CEE and MENAT.
Day to day
- Ensuring Insights underpin key decisions made by commercial, editorial and marketing teams, through shaping and delivering:
- Excellent performance reporting which demonstrates an in depth understanding of key markets, and keeps senior leaders informed of the health of their business.
- Commissioning and overseeing consumer research projects to enhance the businesses’ understanding of audiences and their appetite to consume existing and future product offerings.
- High quality analysis that synthesizes datapoints from across multiple sources (market intelligence, linear channels, digital products, consumer research) into clear, concise and compelling performance stories that inspire action.
- Insights that enable the scheduling and marketing teams to attract maximum audiences through efficient and effective planning.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience within a research and Insights function within the media industry
- Excellent numeric skills and a high level of comfort manipulating detailed and complex quantitative datasets.
- Excellent communications skills, and able to synthesise complex performance stories into actionable insights for non-data literate audiences.
- Proven experience business partnering with stakeholders at all levels i.e. able to proactively scope requirements, offer solutions and convey difficult messages in a constructive way.
- Experience of ratings systems e.g. Arianna, TechEdge
- A thorough understanding of more than one industry or market intelligence data sources (e.g. Ampere, Omdia, GWI, Ipsos Affluent)
- High proficiency in English and Polish.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience setting up and/or understanding the capabilities of working with data visualisation tools such as Tableau and Power BI is desirable.
- Experience of working within international, matrixed business structures would be an advantage
- A strong professional network in market research including agencies, industry bodies, peers in CEE.
