Position: Programming Manager
Reporting line: Channel Editor Poland
Job description:
The role is to be in charge of development and communication of the programming schedule, and to provide support to Channel Editor in terms of programming selection and development of strategies for entertainment channels. This role incorporates providing support for content related and research activities for FIC channels working closely with all departments (Marketing, On-Air & PR) to ensure a clear and unified message.
Main tasks:
• Develop programming strategies and schedules based on channels positioning and demographics, ratings research, market needs and regulations, competitive analysis and ad sales needs
• Research, screen and identify TV trends and relevant content
• Create and maintain programming plans and forecasts
• Ensure all rights are being observed (license periods, runs, etc.)
• Coordinate and monitor versioning
• Work closely with Channel Editor and other departments to create monthly on air promotion strategy, discuss and decide upon the on air promotion priorities
• Make changes to the schedule based on quantitative research
• Prepare complex ratings reports and analysis
• Maintain an up-to-date and thorough knowledge of the Poland TV market, prepare market and competition analysis
Requirements:
• Two years minimum proven experience on Programming Manager or similar position for thematic TV channel(s), preferably entertainment programming
• Proven experience in market research, ratings reports and TV viewership analysis
• Thorough knowledge of TV market, viewers’ needs and TV trends
• An eye for details and good decision making skills
• Very good analytical skills
• TV enthusiast and TV content fan
• Ability to manage projects and meet the deadlines
• An excellent command of English both written and verbal.
