Position Title: Research Manager - Commercial
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Department: Research, Insides & Innovation
Reports to: Research. Insides & Innovations Director CEN
General Summary:
As part of the CEN Research Team, the Research Manager will provide effective and relevant audience research and consumer insights to internal clients, in order to grow revenue through advertising sales and affiliate sales.
The Research Manager will be working closely with the Research Director as well as with the Ad Sales Directors and Brand Partnership Managers
Key Responsibilities:
• Focus on finding strong stories about Discovery channels in order to provide the sales / brand partnership teams with compelling sales arguments
• Support the sales teams with innovative and relevant consumer insights to pitch portfolio of channels competitively. Ensure that the sales pitch is compelling and high quality.
• Assist the Sales Director in developing a strategy to improve our inventory management for commercial spots.
• Under the guidance of the Research Director CEN, design, commission and implement research projects, and ensure quality and objectivity of studies.
• Maintain effective and appropriate reporting systems.
• Building an Expert position of Discovery Sales / Brand Partnership Team.
Operations
• Regular ratings reports: daily, monthly, annual
• Answering ad-hoc requests from central teams in London and from the Ad sales / Brand Partnership team
• To give structural support to the ad sales ratecard strategy
• Provide input for the Commercial Policy
• Provide ratings forecasts
Develop and produce KPI reports for key branches (category overview)
Requirements:
• At least five years research experience – broadcast or media
• Broad research experience, from analysis of peoplemeter data, to commissioning and managing primary quantitative and qualitative research projects
• Strong understanding of the Polish TV market
• Ability to manage workload through business based prioritisation, and delivery of concise and relevant work to internal clients
• Customer focussed and ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact and integrity
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to use initiative
• Passion for TV, media, factual and lifestyle entertainment programmes
• Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Working knowledge of relevant data analysis systems
• University degree preferable, with fluency in English

• The Research Manager is part of the CEN Research Team and participates in decision making processes about the strategy of the business.
• The Research Manager is expected to show initiative, come up with new ideas for research projects in the CE, and autonomously manage those projects.
