General Summary:
This role develops and executes the consumer marketing and PR strategy for the factual portfolio in Central Europe, helping to achieve the goals of excellence in brand development and commercialisation of the portfolio. It ensures we get the better coverage and listings than our competitors.
This role manages PR and Marketing agencies, ensuring we get the most out of them and best value from our contracts with them for Discovery Channel and the portfolio of supporting brands, such as Discovery Turbo Xtra, Discovery Science and Discovery Historia.
The role oversees the digital platforms such as websites and social media and demonstrates how best to use them to drive loyalty and viewership to the channels.
The role works closely with the Lifestyle team, ensuring a balanced portfolio approach.
As part of the CEN Channel Team, this role will work closely with Programming and On-Air to drive viewer tune in and loyalty to our portfolio of brands. It works collaboratively with the On Air Creative Manager and external agencies to ensure the best 360 campaign delivery.
This role also works closely with Trade Marketing to ensure an integrated approach to our activities and to maxmise B2B2C opportunities through Affiliates and Advertisers.
This is a member of the CEEMEA and Discovery Networks International (DNI) Marketing groups and must work openly and collaboratively as part of a wider team encouraging best practice and creative and strategic excellence.
This role is key to delivering effective communications that increase trial, loyalty and viewership to our brands and content by raising awareness year on year around our shows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with the Marketing Director, Head of Channels and VP Integrated Marketing CEEMEA to devise a consumer communications strategy for the brands that delivers the core KPIs of reach, ratings growth.
• Similarly, and with the Creative Director CEEMEA and Research team, help develop the brands in an aligned way that delivers to the above goals as well as the commercial teams goals.
• Manage the PR and Marketing agencies on a daily basis to ensure they action the communications strategy and demonstrate ROI for these actions.
• Be across the latest communication methods and insights – demonstrate how best to use these in order to reach current and new audiences. Work with Research to ensure communication effectiveness
• Work with the Affiliate and Ad Sales Marketing teams to ensure all activity is aligned and integrated with a focus on B2B2C marketing
• Package up promotables for commercial teams
• Work with the teams in Warsaw and London to create strong pan regional brands that support the business objectives for the Central region.
• Be an active member of the CEEMEA Marcomms team, sharing best practice, ideas and contributing to workshops and group conference calls.
• Work with the Corporate Comms teams on developing and executing campaigns that have a CSR element to them.
• Oversee the digital media sites (facebook, web sites) and work with DNI and other CEEMEA teams to ensure best practice and innovation are maintained. Show ROI on digital strategy
• Manage and develop the Digital / Social Media specialist
• Cover colleagues such as other Marcomms Managers or trade marketing members.
Requirements:
• Proven, developed and high level track record in B2C marketing and PR.
• Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines in a heavily matrixed team.
• A team player that enjoys collaborative working.
• A deep understanding of how communications can help drive revenue opportunities.
• A proven portfolio of innovative marketing experience.
• Excellent, consistent, self motivated follow through on every project
